Lesbians do, but just at an extremely lower risk factor.

The type of sex we engage in doesn't usually have to do with the (ahem) anus. (To be blunt)
We tend not to have as many multiple partners as straight or gay males. We usually aren't intravenous drug users. And we tend to CLEAN UP BETTER.

Sorry, but lesbians can get AIDS too. HIV is spread by the transfer of bodily fluids. In Africa there are more heterosexuals with AIDS than homosexuals. Being a lesbian is NO protection against AIDS. It just happens that the way homosexual men tend to have sex is more likely to transfer the virus - its mostly a matter of "mechanics" of transmission. The good news is that it looks like a vaccine that may also function as a cure is coming soon.

Same reason why STRAIGHT men and women get AIDS - intercourse involving body fluids of both partners. Lesbian sex doesn't work the same way, obviously. ONLY ABOUT 1% of lesbians get AIDS. Yup - we're even safer than the straight couples! Some people get AIDS from needles, too. Men (gay, bi or straight) go around inserting the twinkie in her, him, them without condoms and there ya go. Lesbians cannot insert their sex organs into each other. Straight couples spread AIDS - not just gay men.

Anyone who exchanges body fluids can get AIDS, including lesbians. Gay men are more likely to get it than lesbians, though, because you are....um....putting that body fluid directly INTO the other person. Hopefully that makes sense because I'm not going into any more detail than that.
