Spent hundreds on new windows vista computer and can't get it to print off a Lexmark 645. What's up withthis?

Any help appreciated. Give error message that printer is not recognized.

Vista is known to have problems with different brands of printers. You might want to go to Lexmark's website and try to find a Vista driver for your printer, download and install it. That should solve the problem.

Or you can call Microsoft helpdesk / Your computer manufacture company and they would be able to tell you what you need to do to fix that problem.

You should have known from all the preliminary Vista reviews that nothing will work with Vista until the periperal manufacturers have time to catch up to Vista. Microsoft flipped the release of Vista so much then released it before others could develop new drivers to go with it.

While I believe it's Microsoft's fault for not giving them time before release, the bottom line is the printer company has to release a Vista-compatible driver.

you need to get with lexmark and udate the driver. It's lexmarks fault at this point, not microsoft's.
