He always said he's a gun carrying NYC Republican.

That naturally makes him seem liberal to most other Republicans.

His involvement in politics is more as a devil's advocate that doesn't play favorites. He'll bash, but he'll bash both sides, so I can't say with certainty what his politics is. Or that is his side, he's an angry Moderate/Independent, of which there are many of us. I suspect he's a Libertarian.

You say he supported Kerry, which is true. He also bashes Clintons every chance he got. So what does that make him? He used to have Giuliani and Lieberman on his show all the time. He makes fun of extreme left like Pelosi and Dean.

Don Imus said he voted for John Kerry in 2004. Do you believe he was lying when he said that? He said that during one of his shows. Republicans don't vote for Democrats. He has to be a Democrat. Geraldo Rivera and Ann Coulter have both said he's a Democrat when they were on Fox News. Do you expect someone to show you his voting record? That kind of information is not available to the public. Is there someplace where I can find information about how you voted during the last presidential election? No. There is not. That's how it should be. Every American's voting record should not be on public display.

Well, apparently both John Kerry and Tim Russert were regulars on his show.

John McCain did appear, too, apparently.

From what I understand Imus supported Kerry in 2004.

Logically, you could conclude Imus a Democrat.

I was looking, and actually couldn't find any information. I assume he is an independent, and leans democrat. He was a big supporter of Harold Ford Jr., and democrat from Tennessee in last Novembers election, he also supported Kerry in '04, and if I remember correctly Gore in '00.

I just got done reading it but I can't tell you where that if you nail him on it he's Independant. He bashs President Bush a lot so I don't think he's Republican. But really this doesn't make a difference.

He openly hates President Bush. He attacks him at every opportunity he gets. That sounds like a liberal Dem to me.

Geraldo, who has personally known him for decades clearly stated he is not a conservative, but in fact a liberal democrat. And Geraldo is a liberal so there you are, just one example.
