First, you need a dam to raise the level of a reservoir, or water wheel. The simplest water wheel is one where the water undershoots the wheel. Just place the bottom of the wheel in a good current, and it spins. You then connect the axle to a generator, perhaps with belts and/or gears to optimize the speed vs. torque.

Is something to do with the change of magnetic flux . I think Faraday's Law of induction could help to explain the theory .

You need a turbine generator and water traveling (due to gravity) with enough force to turn the turbines.
