No. President Kennedy was assasinated by gunshot in 1963, this is commonly refered to as the 1001 days of his administration. As a candidate, Kennedy was considered an outsider at first and over time, became widely popular and very nearly swept every state in the union during the 1960 election, which ironically was the closest modern election (up till that time).
In any event, the Kennedy Administration had several international mis-steps, mostly focused on the overall Anti-Communist policy of containment. Determent was the use of various means (CIA Clandestine Services, Intelligence Operatives, Military means etc) with the overall goal of reducing communist influence throughout the world. While this policy was eventually effective, it led to several blunders and international tragedies.
The Bay of Pigs massacre - Where the US supported exiled Cuban nationals in an amphibious landing on the Cuban island, the Cuban government of Fidel Castro became aware of the operation and thwarted the effort, this was due to the fact that the US did not supply military assistance which may or may not have been offered. This is similar to the 1991 failure of the Kurds and Sunni's in Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein, since they did not receive sufficient backing after apparently being told it would be forthcoming, their effort failed.
The Cuban Missile Crisis - This was easiy one of the top most dangerous military confrontations in the last 60 years. As there was a very high probability that we would be invading Cuba militarily, (not unlike the Iraq war). However, the USSR (Soviet Union) had (unknown to the US at the time) supplied field commanders in Cuba, tactical nuclear weapons and their use in the field had been approved by Mr. Castro. (See Fog of War).
While largely seen as a success in that Premier Kruzchev "blinked" and removed the warheads and other SRBM nuclear weapons from Cuban soil, The US also made serious concessions as well, Removing NIKE and other SRBM installations from Turkey and Germany.
After the situation with the nuclear weapons on the ground was to some extent discovered by the US, it was clear that it was more of a draw, as had the US actually tried to invade or launch air attacks, the southeastern US , all of Cuba and probably the surrounding areas of many northern cities would have been obliterated within hours.
The war certainly would not have been contained there and while perhaps not destroying civilization, would have profoundly retarded human civilization by several decades or centuries by eliminating food production and delivery across the planet for months if not years, causing mass starvation, biological mutations and world economic collapse.
So no the Cuban Missile crisis didn't make him popular, it did solidify many actions towards nuclear weapons non-proliferation and strategic-arms control talks.

No, he did not finish out his term. It only lasted 1006 days when he was assassinated in Dallas on November 22,1963.
The Cuban missile crisis made Kennedy out to be in the eyes of the Russians that he would not back down as previously thought due to his youth and in their minds an inexperience that could be exploited especially since the Bay of Pigs fiasco which he claimed responsibility. His popularity was always high in his presidency but this show of strength brought to him a respect from his enemies that the US could use to their advantage and influence.

He did not finish his term; he was assassinated in 1963. He would have been president until the end of 1964 or longer if re-elected.

JFK only "finished" his term because he was assassinated. His term was set to expire in 1964.

i think of issues could have long gone in a distinctive way. no longer adequate to transform the country. i think of the Vietnam conflict could have long gone in a distinctive way. i individually have faith that Kennedy became into commencing as much as question what we've been doing there. i do no longer think of the conflict could have escalated as much because it did below LBJ and Nixon. despite the fact that, he could have had extra difficulty with the vote casting Rights invoice that LBJ surpassed. LBJ had a history of having law with the aid of Congress and in all probability had extra traction as a Southerner pushing that law with the aid of. yet addressing the unique question, definite i think of usa could nonetheless exist, incredibly plenty because it does now. i do no longer think of he could have began an entire string of Democratic presidents. issues tend to be cyclical. Kennedy accompanied 8 years of Republican rule.
