not technology, guesswork. recommended guesswork at best. replace the numbers guessed slightly and the style of civilisations is going to 36,one hundred or 0.361. the possibilities of extraterrestrial existence are fantastically sturdy, someplace interior the full galaxy. besides the undeniable fact that it may be micro organism or animals and flora, or perhaps if the interior reach equivalent is. even if if there are smart beings, there is not any assure of stepped forward technologies previous some huts, nets, baskets, consistent with probability pottery, stone equipment spears and fish traps. stepped forward civilisations in the international purely occurred the place there have been specific mixtures of farmable flora and useful animals. the place those issues did not exist, including in southern Africa or Australia there replaced into no stepped forward civilisation. there is not any reason to assume that existence on different planets would be any diverse, even if if the locals are smart.

You mean other than us? (And that's debateable)

Odds are pretty good that there is some sort of sentient life in our galaxy somewhere (or at least there was).

I guess the big issue is what happens when a civilization becomes technologically advanced. Once the civilization posseses the weapons that can destroy the civilization, what is the likelihood that they did.

Probably. Just because they haven't clearly shown their existence, it still doesn't mean that they don't exist :-)
