Why does America waste so much money in the space program? How is going to mars going to help us? We put millions and millions and millions of dollars into the space program. I just think its a waste of cash, time, and space.

Its not such a wast. Its research. Suppose we never spent anything on such devolopments. Then we wouldnt even have stalites and stuff. You probebly wouldnt even have the internet. Just coz a pourpose cannot be seen doesnt mean its useless

We waste so much money anyways. Maybe they are trying to figure out how to destroy the big asteroid that is coming our way. We have to monitor the space because things in it could be the ending of mankind. It's scary knowing what we do know. What about what we don't know? We don't even know all the species on the planet earth. It's in our nature to be curious. It's a closer step to finding what they are looking for. When they get there mankind will try to overpower it anyways. Read your history. It keeps Americans entertained.

it is a quest for knowledge, and to explore our "world" as we know it,,,,,,, though yes, you are right,,, shouldnt we work on/put effort into earths problems, before we branch out? but i guess Americans have decided that it is worth it (or perhaps more likely have chosen not to decide its not!)
its just like our programs to help other countries, thats all well and good, and we should care,,,,, but we should give what we have left over,,,, after all Americans have health care,, are not living in poverty,,,, and we have fixed our ecological problems,,,,, and also our many social problems,,,,,, perhaps we should do the same with the space program, treat it as a luxury,

i know!!!! its like we could be spending that money on the preservation of the planet in which we exsist....its the basic psychology of...we will never be happy, we must always further expand....its quite irritating if you ask me....
