I'm going to do the grade 8 of the Trinity exam. My topic talks about my trip to London. Can you give me a sentence with the past perfect? Or can you explain me the past perfect with examples? Thank you!!!!

Examples of the past perfect : "I had just visited Westminster Abbey when I saw my Italian friend." "By the time he began 'Paradise Lost' Milton had written many other poems." "In April 1950, when I was born, my father had just left the Army." Notice that in the second sentence, you have to say "had written" because English does not allow "had wrote," whereas in the other cases "had" is followed by the past tense of the main verb ("visited" and "left").
The past perfect not only means that something took place in the past but that it happened before something else in the past.
