Humans are so pathetic because they act like they have to be aware of everything and know everything.

Pathetic means profound. In the bastardizing of language through time it has become pitiable, pitifully "lost', as if having no hope considering the source, etc. But yours is a very good question!
People have forgotten or rather, nearly entirely set aside the Fact that they come from nature. They've put a crown of supremacy as the premier species upon their heads! This has made them falsely powerful, presumptuously decisive and extremely dangerous to the very Nature that created them, other species of creatures to the point of "SURPRISE, SURPRISE!" eventual extinction.
People seem not to learn because of their arrogance, their neglect of EVEN others of their kind. Their illusions they'll always be here, practicing their delusions to the horrifying lack of concern of everything else.
Example : I visited a neighbor and began to speak of the plight of the polar bear and the penguin and other Arctic creatures, just for starters. Her answer was, I am not "none" of those", (beautiful double negative sealing her ignorance and stupidity, by the way . . )" when I get home, all I want to do is make myself a drink, put my feet up and watch "Everyone Loves Raymond." And then to my bemused astonishment , she added - We don't eat polar bear meat, do we? . . are Penguins fowl?"
So there is an example of most people's, not all, mind you,
Selfish and oblivious mode while here on SUPPOSEDLY, plentiful EARTH, but for mankind alone! Everything else can go to "HECK!"
People, became pathetic, as in profoundly stupid, uncaring, ignorant, when they believed that a flash in the pan of intelligence, would place them at the top of EVERYTHING. (Which is untrue of course, for having set themselves apart from nature, they've nearly destroyed the balance of nature . . ) My image of human is a great world catastrophe occurring while they are sitting in their easy chairs, watching some silly sit-com and having a drink in their hand! I'd like to witness such consequences when finally here, but I must say, I will not be unhappy being flushed out of the species reign, as well, after all, I am human too. So I deserve the trip down to extinction, as well!
P.S. Humans could have used that flash of intelligence for helping nature, their own kind, all the other species, more within a balance for all, survive . . but greed got in the way . . oh well, the bed we make, we eventually must lie in! Hurray!

Yes, we are totally the most pathetic race on the planet. Thus our intelligence, highly advanced science and medicine and ability to live past 20 >.> Life cycle? So what if your friends and family died from the flu because flu shots didn't exist. I'm sure you'd be pissed. Edit- LOL, without a currency system the world would be total anarchy. Which, in theory, sounds fun. Until your shot because you wanted those damn cookies your neighbor had

Wipe your hand across your face. You have just killed millions of microscopic life forms! Do you care? No.
Our earth is like that...it can be wipe away tomorrow, next week and it will mean nothing. We are one tiny dot of life amongst endless galaxies containing endless planets and suns. We are nothing in the scheme of things.
We take ourselves so seriously because like trained fleas, we have been programmed to spit out conditioned reactions from ignorance.
Do something. Instead of complaining and calling names, get out there and do something worthwhile. Prove to our world that not all humans are pathetic. Whining has never helped anyone.
In spite of it all...I can hear that you care a great deal. Many of us do. Being alive isn't always easy...most of us do our best and feel a lot the same way you do. Frustrated.

Humans are NOT pathetic! We can dream, think, plan and create as no other species on this planet can. While we have done much that is destructive, we have also created art, music, science and philosophy, all of which have benefited not only human beings but all species that have ever lived on the is planet. Even today, there are those of us who not only study and preserve records of species and civilizations that have existed before us, but also try to learn what they can from such records.

I think were pathetic b/c we're all afraid of each other in some small form. Don't mess up here and don't step on peoples toes. I think we're pathetic b/c all we're doing is striving for perfectionism and we tend to make idiots out ourselves on the way there. I think that societys biggest problem is that we care too much what other people think; yes I know there are those of you out there who don't care what other people think but a large percentage of us do and that my friend is why we are so pathetic.

If we were as horrible and pathetic as you believe, the world would have ended centuries ago, most children would never make it to adulthood and most people would not live to die a natural death.
You are only focused on the negative, and when you read this, you will probably even think sometihng like "Well, what's so positive?" which essentially proves you are only seeing what you want to see.
Change your attitude and you change the world.
Do you think a helpless and disapproving attitude does any good?

Let me answer your question by posing others:
Why do you generalize humans? Do you count yourself as pathetic, being one? In my view, some are pathetic, others aren't.
Is it possible that the people really aren't so pathetic, but that your perceptions of them are skewed? Pathetic, like beauty or leadership, is largely in the eye of the beholder.

Well, ask yourself first. Are you one of those who will do small things to help change the environment or do you merely whine about environmental problems but do not do anything to help improve the situation? That's why we are pathetic. We whine but cease to do anything.
