My highschool prom was more important than my university prom. I guess proms are getting bigger in importance today than during my time.
For me the prom was a celebration of many years of work and opening a new chapter in my life.

It's very important to those in that age bracket. If you're by the American School in London near St Johns Wood (I went there) they had prom, at least back in my day, so you could check it out.

Some people think it's the world. To me, it was just another dance. (I ended up going to 6 proms during high school.)

I never went, and I still don't care! My prom was over twenty years ago! Just a waste of money for a dance!

I don't think it's important. I do think it's nice though for many reasons. You get to dress up, eat food, socialize, and be with friends.

It's like pretty big, and I have no idea why. I know that when I get to high school, I'm not going to mine.
