is it?Its primed and ready for paint and I want to get the exact color red for the tower. The Mobile Launch Platform is a dark primer grey, but I want to get the colors as close as possible.I have studied hundreds of pictures and watched hours of video
and can see the hammerhead crane is half yellow as are the extensions on the swing-arms. I can see the bottoms of the LUT legs are in a flame retardant light grey. The hold-down arms look to be an olive green. Also was the railing red or green? Its so hard to tell.I've been scratch building this for over two years now and its getting close to completion. Its in a 1 to 144 scale.
Any help would be appreciated-thanks!

Looking at a high resolution photograph it appears to be the same color as the "USA" at the bottom of the first stage. I couldn't find any official documentation noting the exact color . Looking at a testors paint chart I would say the closest was"bright red". Good Luck.

Here's a couple of good images, one from inside and one from outside the VAB. Note that the umbilical is lit by yellow LPS sodium lights inside. If we allow for that, I'd have to agree that bright red is the color.
