The most significant thing about 1945 was the end of World War II. Google or go to wikipedia regarding 1945, and find other historical evens in 1945. Who was president? How much did gasoline cost??...........

For instance..............."World War II was ending, Franklin Roosevelt was President of the United States. The average price of gasoline was________, minimum wage was ________. The year was 1945.

Do some research, grab some interesting facts. Get an attention grabbing opening.

Hope this helps

Why not get out an atlas with a timetable, like
the World Atlas. Then take the events listed
there and work on them.
One possible idea: 1945 was the worst year in human history.
Elaborate!

This is the wikipedia link for the year:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945

It's done chronologically (January to December) which is a good order for your project. Pick some big events (like WWII, advances in technology, etc) and speak to each of those as they developed throughout the year.

Also, every event has a link to more information, including some less significant events, which will be great for creating a context for all of the big things you write about.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

I would suggest you put the year in the search bar of yahoo or google and see what you get. Another way is to go to the library and ask a librarian to help you they love to do that. Good luck!
