Yes, if it was "I screwed up" and not the generic "mistakes were made" (as in, by someone else), and not, "I made a mistake in not realizing someone else would screw this up" or "I still stand by it, but might have mistaken some small details".

A real, honest mea cupla, and not the semi-admission or qualifications would make me think more of him, because that's the overriding flaw in his personality that has pulled us deeper and deeper into disasters.

I wouldn't make me think well of him, but more of him? Yes.

Actually during his state of the Union address, he did state that mistakes were made, and where those mistakes were made, was his responsibility and his alone. The responsibility lies with him. But most people seemed to have missed that.

I would think more of him if he would just stand up and fight. He should stop being Mr. Nice Guy, and start kicking some liberal butt! COME ON BUSH, STOP WIMPING OUT, STAND UP AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!

Certainly.

It would make him more human, instead of the imposing God-like figure that he now is.

Most people aren't comfortable around perfection.

definitely, but saying and doing are two different things....if he manages to fix things instead of leaving it for the next president then i would respect him more as president.

and you would be wrong because he wouldnt be telling the truth. consider what we had to put up with clinton, the last flaming liberal in office.
