Two step equation
Example
2x - 4 = 0
First step
Transposing + 4 to both sides of the equation
2x - 4 + 4 = 0 + 4
2x = 4
Second step
dividing both sides of the equation by 2
2x = 4
2x / 2 = 4 / 2
x = 4 / 2
x = 2

That is the procedure for the two step equations

A two step equation is just like the name says. If can be done in 2 steps. I'll show you a one step first (example A), then a two step (example 2) and finally a 3 three step (example 3) so that you can see the differences. You can get 4,5,6,7 etc step equations too.
Example One (1 step)
4x = 12 - question
x = 12/4 - step 1- move the 4 over
x = 3 - answer
Example Two (2 step)
4x - 8 = 12
4x = 12+8 - move the 8
x = 20/4 - move the 4
x = 5
Example Three ( 3 step) - sometimes we use a lot more than 3 lines to solve because we show everything we do
4x - 9 = 12 + x
4x -x = 12 + 9 - move the 9
3x = 21 - move the x
x = 21/3 - move the 3
x = 7
If I were doing the last question on a test for part marks etc I would write it out this way.
4x - 9 = 12 + x
4x = 12 + x + 9
4x - x = 12 + 9
3x = 21
x = 21/7
x = 3

a 2 step equasion is where u have to do 2 steps in an equation. example. 2x + 3= 25
2x+3-3=25-3
2x=22
2x divided 2= 22 divided by 2
x=11

8 = -12/ ok/-4 first use this rule. a/b divided by using c/d = ac/bd so. 8 = -12 * -4/ok then multiply -12 and -4 then reproduction the denominator so that's going to be 8 = 40 8/ok then ok = 40 8/8 = 6 p.s between others. that's one hundred% specific to examine: 8 = -12/ 6 / -4 8 = -12 * -4/6 8 = 8 i even verify it on the calculator :)
