No, offer them around and see who is willing to part with a 3rd baseman. Thome should have good value...I agree he cant stay in the lineup but when he does he puts up excellent numbers so someone should have an interest in him. If you are going to drop someone it should be Kent (he wont see any time in your lineup at 2nd and you have plenty of 1st basemen so he likely never leaves your bench). Drop him for Figgins or Blalock (thinking Blalock has a bounceback year). But you also have a very good 3rd baseman starting now...Atkins is a very productive player (.329, 29 HR & 120 RBI last year).

HOLY F*CK!
Garret Atkins+ Coors Field= Stud=NO hole at 3rd!
Anything below a 10 team league isn't even worth considering as a league.
It becomes a game of which superstar do I bench?
Your team is stacked and you have no need to make a deal for a 3b. Sexson always starts slow, wait until after the all star break and he'll be sick.
You don't make that trade also, because all you're doing is adding more bench players.

Put Sexson and Thome on the trading block together and see what you can get. If i saw those 2 being traded, i would give up a 3B. You should of accepted the trade offer you received. In it you were giving up 2 backups(a SS and 1B/2B) for a possible starter in Zimmerman and a backup 2B in Roberts.

You could always pick up BJ Upton an lose Kent since you will still be good with a backup 2nd baseman in Upton sine his elgible an 2b an 3b. An if you drop Kent you still have Berkman an Sexson (who will play better) an people like Wiggington out there if Sexson dosent work out.

If your DL slot is still open you'll definately want to grab Figgins and stash him. Even if you don't he's still the top talent on that list and you're only looking for a back up.
As far as guys who don't play, I either trade them or dump them. Id rather have Thome than Sexson, but dont keep both around.

Ok first off what was the point of having a 5 team league. Pick up either Upton or Figgins. Both are the best two there.

Drop Thome for Meche. Meche is a sturdy starter and fantasy sleeper who's extra powerful than a number of your SPs like Maholm and Volstad. He only tossed 7 innings with a a million.29 era and 6 Ks, it is lots extra powerful than what adult adult males like Sabathia and Lincecum did this week. the only concern with Meche is that he has a vulnerable Royals lineup backing him, which made his super first start up a no decision. And, in case you do not choose to hold directly to Meche very long, you are able to attempt the technique in which you upload a glass the day formerly their start up, have them get you stats the day they pitch, and in a while drop them for yet another probable pitcher. every time I even have vulnerable pitching i exploit this technique to grant my team some extra possibilities to %. up wins and Ks and decrease my era. And, honestly, Thome won't help you out plenty in trades if different vendors comprehend you purely bench him and have not have been given any use for him.
