leave it for time to take its course to where and when it is bound to. Maybe it is premature to conclude now. Let time be the organizer of the destiny the Divine organizer has planned for you. Keep that love in your heart pure and simple. You know when it is the right thing, the right love, and the right one-if it's for you, it'll come, it not-it will cease to oblivion and you take it from that state of forgottenness whether you will loyally keep that love in your heart or you replace it by emerging from your brokenness.
Sometimes we have stuff to attend to in the interim, it is a test,fair trials and tribulations that allow us to determine the trueness of love we have for that person.
Miracles do happen. God sees, hears, and understands our pleas.

You should just help her with her grief as a friend by telling her how much she makes you happy. Happiness only she can feel for herself. Don't tell her you love her, now. Wait until the moment you feel she has forgotten him, or, at least, confronted the truth that death has taken her "true love" forever. Then, you express your feelings toward her. Don't devote your life to any one. Miracles are not to take place with the dead or love. I hope you the best, but if you feel this enamored, then wait for the right moment to tell her.

It is not within your power (or any ones) to "make" another person happy. Happiness is something that happens on the inside. If you chose to laugh at your misfortunes (dark humor) whether you feel like it or not, instead of cry over them you will be a happier person. No one is happy ALL the time, nor should they be (you need sadness for comparison purposes if nothing else.
Continue to include this friend in your life so that she is not just sitting on the sidelines of life waiting, remember it is OK NOT to date and encourage her to make choices that keep her involved in her own life rather than just waiting for "someday" to arrive. Your friend will heal in their own time.
Remember "Life is what happens while you are making other plans!" Good luck to you both.

It is perhaps admirable to fall in love that deeply, but it is not practical, or even healthy. As a matter of fact, your friend's case may even be just a strong infatuation. I believe love is a mutual, reciprocative affair. An English poet says: "It can not be love till I love her that loves me." Another thing your frined must realise is this we don't live for ourselves, or for one single relationship. Even if that person returned her love, there are other people who should matter- her friends, her family...
As her friend, your duty should be to take her mind off things, to make her pay attention to other aspects of life. Invite her to home oneay and look at old school photos, talk about your collective pranks and laugh. Or go for a slap-stick comedy movie. Go for shopping or window-shopping if the purse is thin...get her addicted to Orkut/gaming/Yahoo answers... You know your friend best. You should be able to decide yourself what can cheer her up.
