It is not a good idea to go to the police at this stage. I think there is nothing you can do with this (depend on luck) even ebay community can not control this so just make sure before you bid you need to look at the feedback which i always do, did & done since it happened to me. Ebay can ban that person but imagine if the seller have 2-3 or 4 accounts in different names. It happened to me before leaving the negative feedback he closed his acc. and I found his products has different id register but exactly the same pic of products . Also it is not worth to flight with them if was threatening which i was and i end up to much worried and couldn't sleep. . So Just forget it and be careful with next purchase.

If you know his address, call the police in his home town and let them know what he is doing. One of the people I bought something from ( a nice guy! ) told me he did this and the person "woke up" and sent the item that he had been hanging on to for weeks. Other than that, contact the EBay security team and document what he is doing - his EBay privileges could be suspended. Also, be sure that there is plenty of feedback from the people that leave feedback - sometimes people setup phony accounts just so they can give themselves positive feedback, and don't be afraid to try and contact those people using the EBay messages to see if they really are "for real".

File a claim with PayPal for item significantly not as described. You could get your money back but you will need to return the item to the seller. Be careful with negative feedback as he could leave negative feedback for you. eBay will get involved if there is fraud involved, but not just hyping up the item and charging more for shipping, it has to be real fraud, like taking your money and not giving you anything at all, or something far less than described like a laptop that is just a shell or information not the actual laptop. Good luck

I had a similar problem, only they charged me and I didnt receive anything. I contacted Ebay on the report site and filed a claim against the seller. you need the seller and transaction and paypal numbers to file the claim. You need to explain the situation to them. They usually respond within a week. If you dont get a response keep on them.
go into my ebay and hit dispute console. then go into report items not received or as described and they will direct you from there
good luck

hi: eBay made a coverage exchange in the spring that i think of is terrible. A client can go away poor comments for the vendor, however the vendor can purely go away solid comments for the shopper. So sellers are on the mercy of the whims of the shopper. A client could be having a "undesirable hair day" and opt to offer undesirable comments to 10 distinctive sellers. The sellers have not have been given any thank you to guard themselves from those form of purchasers. Many sellers started a artwork sluggish-down in the spring to protest the hot coverage. some sellers have left eBay and started advertising on Amazon, or they started their very very own web content.

With eBay, you get sellers that go out of there way to please people, and once in a while you get sellers that suck, with eBay the good out weight the bad. it the same way with dealing with any store. you can report them to BBB, make other report to eBay, and report them to pay pal if you went threw them.

Very few Ebayers do what you just described. Like retailers aren't bad enough with their return policies. You have lots of recourses.
