30 drinking straws, tape (must not be more than 25% of the total structure), 1 raw egg, scissors. Any design, no other materials. No tampering with egg. Egg must survive intact, no cracks. Structure must not be covered with tape, tape only to reinforce straws. Egg will be dropped from second floor, approximately 20 feet. HELP!

Try a double geodesic dome structure, with struts between them.If you slit one straw to slide inside the other, and seal the ends of both, it can work like an air shock absorber. There's a good site called desert domes to give you the basics of dome structure.
Good Luck.

i would kinda mkae a basket around the egg using the straws...u should like link the straws by putting one inside another and make it spaced apart.

that way teh outer ones absorb the damage and not the egg itself...thats teh best thing to do i think...maybe u should do the project urself like i did a similar one (that WON)
