Nov. of 2005, Reid practically shut down the Senate asking where is Part II report. Republicans said two weeks... it is still not done. It was to investigate if intelligence was used properly that took us into Iraq. Such an important item, especially if we were misled into an unnecessary war. Could there be any higher crime? How can we get Congress to investigate this and provide the Part II report?

To the poster above me, the person asking the question isn't asking about the 9/11 commission report, but the Senate Intelligence committee, which issued a slanted partisan report that claimed there wasn't undue or unethical pressure on the intelligence agency to slant their reporting.

The promised Part II was looking at how the Administration themselves used the facts and information they had. Senator Roberts claimed it was being "worked on" in order to delay it beyond the mid-term elections. He managed to hold it up so nothing happened during the ENTIRE session of the 109th Congress. Now that he's not in charge, I'd imagine it's getting worked on, but until this astute questioner brought it up, it had slipped off my radar, as well.

Maybe it's because everyone KNOWS Bush cooked the books on this one by now, it's not as urgent, but the right-wing talking points about how EVERYONE felt the same way, and how they were intelligence errors continues to be trotted out, and the Kool-Aid drinkers on the right continue to cling to that.

I'd guess that with ongoing abuses, like the NSA wiretapping, rendition and torture and stuff like that, finishing that report may have been pushed back in priority (not an excuse for Roberts, since the Republican Congress wasn't doing anything else while they were doing nothing on this report).

I've sent a note to my senator who is on that committee, and recommend that others do the same.

Much like the first report, what are you expecting to find? Do you really think the administration is going to just admit to mistakes or try to cover them up?

The only way to find something close to the truth, is to remove BOTH the democrats and republicans from power.
