No. Because he doesn't have the numbers. He was a good player but not a great player.

Well, I've been a Dodger fan all my life, but I don't think I would vote for Garvey for the Hall of Fame. He was an excellent player, but not quite HoF material. He wanted to break Gehrig's record before Ripken did and if he had done that, he might have gotten into the Hall. Unfortunately he had after he went to San Diego.
As things stand, I don't even think he is the most deserving Dodger first baseman who is not in the Hall of Fame. Gil Hodges is.

No. For the position he played (first base) he is not comparable in career statistics with the other first basemen that are already in the Hall of Fame.

He was a decent gloveman at first base after being atrocious at third (inaccurate throwing arm) but he was basically a statue at first in the later years of his career.

His career Triple Crown categories were "only" a .294 batting average; 272 home runs; 1308 RBI. While he had a solid career, he is not close to being a Hall of Fame player as a first baseman. If he were a shortstop or second baseman with these statistics he may have a chance.

Not a chance!!!, he was a slighltly better than average hitter and fielder, who played in a VERY high market town, when the dodgers we're winning, plus the fact that he was a bit loose when it came to the women, so he got tons of press.

Only if it's the Hall of Fatherhood. He plopped out Kids, from several different Women. And none of the Women, was my Ex-Wife! Go figure.

Yes he should. 290+ lifetime average. 10 time All Star, MVP, Golden Glove....lesser players have made it in. Despite his personal issues for a time, I met him a few times as a teenager. He was kind to kids and fans.

No. He doesn't compare statistically with other, better 1st. basemen. An errorless 1st. baseman does not a Hall of Famer make.
