A dream is the experience of envisioned images, sounds, or other sensations during sleep. The events of dreams are often impossible or unlikely to occur in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer.
TYPES OF DREAMS:
DAYDREAMS
LUCID DREAMS
NIGHTMARES
RECURRING DREAMS
HEALING DREAMS
PROPHETIC DREAMS
DÉJÀ VU
day dreams:
Day dreaming is classified as a level of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. It occurs during our waking hours when we let our imagination carry us away. As our minds begin to wander and our level of awareness decreases, we lose ourselves in our imagined scenario and fantasy.
Positive daydreaming is healthy. It serves as a temporary escape from the demands of reality. It is also a good way to release pent up frustrations without physically acting them out.
lucid dreams:Lucid dreams occur when you realize you are dreaming.
Most dreamers wake themselves up once they realize that they are only dreaming.
Other dreamers have cultivated the skill to remain in the lucid state of dreaming.
Lucid dreams give us the ability to control our own dreams and steer them toward the direction we want.
The application of lucid dreams is limited only to your imagination. We can use lucidity as a tool to improve our sports, to rehearse a speech, to fulfill our fantasies, or to solve a problem in our waking life.
nightmares:A nightmare is a disturbing dream that causes the dreamer to wake up feeling anxious and frightened.Nightmares may be a response to real life trauma and situations.
These type of nightmares fall under a special category called Post-traumatic Stress Nightmare (PSN).
Nightmares may also occur because we have ignored or refused to accept a particular life situation.
recurring dreams:Recurring dreams repeat themselves with little variation in story or theme. These dreams may be positive, but most often they are nightmarish in content.
Dreams may recur because a conflict depicted in the dream remains unresolved or ignored.
Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or a problem that keeps coming back again and again.
It usually points to a personal weakness, fear, or your inability to cope with something in your life - past or present. .
The repetitive patterns in your dream can reveal some of the most valuable information on yourself
healing dreams:Healing dreams serve as messages for the dreamer in regards to their health. It is believed that healing dreams can help us avoid potential health problems and help us to heal when we are ill.
prophetic dreams:Prophetic dreams, also referred to as precognitive or psychic dreams, are dreams that seemingly foretell the future.
Our dreaming mind is able to piece together bits of information and observation that we normally overlook or that we do not seriously consider.
other dreams:
Signal Dreams
Epic Dreams
Spiritual Dreams
Subjective Dreams
Personal Dreams and many more...
deja vu:The term “déjà vu” is French for “already seen”.It describes the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously.
The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity and also a sense of “weirdness”.
The feeling of familiarity is often due to the fact that one has actually been in a similar situation before, and has simply forgotten it due to lack of attention paid.
PURPOSE OF DREAMS:Dreams help us compensate for the parts in our “total personality” that are underdeveloped in our waking life.
Dreams help us solve problems we are currently dealing with, in our lives, specially emotional.
Dreams are a remnant of our Neanderthal past where they served as a mental training ground for the daily life and death struggles.Dreams serve an important role in brain development.

Yes.. I had a dream before in which I had deja vu about the same dream. In the dream I suddenly felt like I had dreamed it before and then I became aware I was dreaming which was even more insane! I still went through the dream but I knew everything that was going to happen before it did because I could remember dreaming it before.. then I thought I woke up but I wasn't awake really I was still sleeping, I just stopped being aware.. and I dreamed that I was thinking about my dream deja vu, and dreams within dreams and what I would do when I woke up.. then I really woke up and I was confused... lol

A part of the sub-concious mind. You are dreaming because you are resting the brain and then your imagination take's over. Dream's can be very interesting, so think positive thought's through the day and you'll have some good dream's at night. If you think negatively, you'll have bad dream's. So exercise your brain by doing thing's you enjoy.

I find that my dreams are little parts of things I saw or thought of during the day, and my mine starts trying to make a pattern out of them.
For instance - if I dream of going to a different world where humans redo our genes so we can be mermaids on an all-water world (yes, I do dream stuff like that) - it means I read a science article on cloning dogs, I glanced at my VCR tape of Waterword, and one of the nieces was talking about Ariel the mermaid (or whatever her name is).

No.
Dreams are just images that come into your mind while your asleep. it shows that your brain functions even while you are asleep.
There are Dream interpreters who claim they can 'read' your dreams.... I dont usually believe in them but you could check them out if you wanted to.
