I don't think anyone will ever be able to come up with a single definite answer to this question since women like men can not be considered as a single entity. In a culture where individualism is emphasised what a woman wants is subject to the circumstances that affect her personality while in other cultures where community has an upper hand on individual beings the needs of women are represented in an over simplified manner. I don't know what led Sigmund Freud to come up with such a quesion since no one really knows what men want either.

Why do you feel you that you HAVE to answer this question? If a man were to ask the same question "What does a man want?" you would all say sex, being a tough guy or football hero or something like that. I think its terriable the way you are all brainwashed to think like this and you will always be "forced" as long as you continue to think this way. Me and my girlfriend have started doing weights and we have noticed the improvement all ready, but theres not a hope in hell that I think Im "the man" or I think that Im better than anyone else. I just feel more happy about my self than I did before because I was depressed and Im a little stronger as well which is good because I used to struggle to lift things sometimes so I feel really good about that. My girlfriend feels a lot happier as well, and shes a happy and cheerful girl every day of the year. So I think the answer to your question is really about what YOU want, as someone else said on here, that its up to the individual on what they want and it cant be just associated with what EVERYONE wants.

All women cannot be characterized by any one answer to this question. Women are individuals and each answer would be unique. Why do we, as humans, want everything in a tidy, little box? The great part about humanity in general is that you can't put anyone in a box. Each person is special and important and as unique as their answer to this question. Just for your information, I want chocolate (right now anyway).

You know how boys grow up wanting to be Zorro,Superman,THE HERO,THE MACHO GUY....
Boys play war and etc.

Girls grow up wanting to be Princesses,Cinderella and etc.
We get older and want someone to "rescue" us,the macho guy to sweep us off our feet.
We play with dolls/barbie and stuff,it's the "mother instincts somehow and that we wanna dress up and look all cute and pretty.
We want the prince, the marrige and the children....

We grow up and want the same things, pretty much,
just like most men prefer action rather than romance.
Just like men wanna be THE MAN,I am stronger than you,I got the last this and that car,I got the last blackberry/earpiece.....
Guys compete with electronics and cars and macho stuff.
Women dress up for themselves and sometimes for other women.
You always wanna look well put together, not like a "raggamuffin",lol
We want romance and affection,a man that's faithful, honest, loving, respectful, supportive, responsible, attentive, ambitious, strong, yet sensitive.

I believe men want the same in women, and there is nothing wrong with that.

TREAT YOURSELF,DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF!

Women want someone which they can rely on for the rest of their live. Some women look tough from outside but all women in this universe is the same-all of them looks tough but it is easily hurt from inside.Women want to be respected and treated equally with men.Not that because they need to rely on men they can be treated unequally.

Jamie is right. Love.

Women want love. Men want sex. (Not to say they don't want other things, but those are your biggies, right there.)
