The hymen is not a reliable indicator of virginity. Some girls were born without them, while others have broken theirs due to accidents or rough sports.

If the girl has never had sex and the hymen was broken or torn by a fall or as in my case getting my first pelvic exam and pap smear at age 18 because the dr used a regular sized instrument called a speculum then she is still a virgin.
As the last poster said the medical and true definition of the word "virgin" is anyone who has never had sex.
If the girl has had intercourse already then she is no longer a virgin.
I'm a 35 year old virgin.

If a girl's hymen tore through physical activity such as horse riding or a fall then she is still a virgin because she did not tear it through sexual intercourse.
Hope I helped!! xx

What exactly is your question? It's quite possible to have a torn hymen and still be a virgin, if that's what you are asking.

it depends how, if the hymen was teared during sex the uh NO... definantly NOT a virgin lol, but other wise if it was not teared during intercourse and they have never had sex then they are a virgin.
being a virgin means you have never had sex, if you have had sex your not a virgin---- simple yes? lol
