Aside from the revenue issue (which is HUGE) they also have great history and established franchises which attract the best players in the world. The FA has a great system for creating and attracting this talent. Importantly, this system not only attracts many of the best players but also some of the best coaches. The generous salaries and ample opportunities for endorsements also help a lot.

To the person above me how has Thierry Henry been successful in the Champs League this season (like the question states).

I think the reason for the success is the better (unfortunately mostly foreign) players playing for our big clubs. They seemingly have brought a winning mentality to the squads. Couple that with the 3 bosses who are in charge of the 3 English teams in the Semi-Finals have all been successful in European competition.

Does this mean the Premiership is the best league in the world?

The EPL is the toughest league in the world. They have a lot of the best players playing in the top 7-8 clubs. You don't have that kind of depth in any other league.

Also, look at the managers in the EPL. I'd say the EPL has the best managers at this point in time. If you don't believe that then why are so many teams looking to take the managers away from: Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

As far as success goes, it just comes down to strategy of the managers as well as how bad the players themselves want to progress. You can tell that Chelsea are throwing everything at winning the CL this season. SAF is just enjoying his last years as manager of Man U.

Hope this advice helps.

Domestic dominance in the premier league by consistently finishing in the top four. More prize money at the end of the season, plus it's now to the tune of £25 million clubs stand to get by qualifying for the competition, add to this the huge windfall the 20 clubs will get when the next league season kicks off. So revenue is linked. This enables the clubs to attract the quality of player they want.

The English league is currently one , if not the most, popular leagues in the world.

Pity my club's one division lower.

The Barclay's English Premiership League is the best league in the world and has been for a long time. That should give English teams an advantage when it comes to any continental club championship, and UEFA Champions League is no exception.

Maybe they 've got alot more of a balanced team. I mean Ronaldo is the first portuguese Man U player, and Liverpool has a lot of Spanish players. Chelsea has Drogba from Africa. English clubs are using players from every continent and bring in all the different skills and styles. I'm not so sure about other European clubs but i think the variety of skills in English clubs is alot more than say a Turkish or italian club. That could be the advantage.

Because these few years, EPL has been the best league in the world. They can attract fans, investments (just remember Abramovich, the Glazers, and all investors), also coaches and talents from all around the world (see Arsenal's legionnaires or Liverpool's latinos). They can do almost anything. It's good for their reputation, but too bad for local young talents....

The 'Big Scandal' in Serie A (and by this I mean the absence of Juve) and Ronaldinho's (read: Barcelona's) bad form.
And of course the magnificent display of C.Ronaldo, Lampard, Drogba, Gerrard, Vidic, Rooney.... (and also Murinho's, Rafa's and Sir Alex Ferguson's skills)

The simplest answer should be
Roman Abramovich + Thiery Henry + Rafael Benitez + Alex Fergusson
