I will pick up whatever I see. We have a big "parking meter" coin box just inside the front door of our house where everyone dumps there change in at the end of the day or whenever you can no longer close your wallet. We finally filled it last year and it had just over $400 in it. See, every little bit helps! :)

I figure that even when I have very little money, somebody else in this world has less than me. I do not pick money up off the ground. I leave it for someone else to find.

I once parked right on top of a ten dollar bill (at a grocery store)... it was right there sticking out from under my tire. I left it there, figuring that, (a) either the owner will come back looking for that ten, or (b) someone else who REALLY needs it will find it.

My motto: See a penny, pick it up... throw your back out bending down, then go to the doctor and cough up the BIG BUCKS. Nevermind, leave the penny where it is.

Heck yes, I've been picking pennies up off the sidewalk, road, mall floor since I was little. Why stop now?

The only time I won't pick one up is if I'm not with someone and there are strangers around. Then, I just look tacky. LOL. I once passed up a dollar on my college campus just because I didn't want to look like a scrounge. haha, I still regret not picking up that dollar.

I pick up pennies! mostly for the good luck:
"see a penny
pick it up
and all day
you'll have good luck."

but then there's the money to consider. since it takes two seconds to bend down and pick something up, a single penny translates into a wage of $18 an hour. and it just goes up from there!

plus! if you have a penny in your pocket, it'll prevent you from getting four more pennies next time you need to pay cash for something that comes to an odd amount! ;-)

A quarter of a peso, because that's the smallest denomination that PUV (public utility vehicle) drivers would accept in the Philippines.

Anything lower than that are accepted only in big stores.

What's the value of a quarter of a peso? Picture out: 1 US$ = 49 pesos.

I pick up pennies. They add up. Paid for a car repair with 70 dollars worth of pennies I had picked up once. Over a matter of time of course.
