My girlfriend just informed me yesterday that she was 13 days late with her period. The first thing that came to my mind was pregnancy. Which was OK with me, since I’m in my 30’s and seriously thinking about marriage and raising a family. Here is the problem. I know that I didn’t ejaculate into her since I’m REALY careful about that. However there’s one time that I got a drunk as a skunk and me and the old lady had some fun in the bedroom. But that was about two weeks ago. She called me yesterday that she was late as I mentioned above (13 days). I got really worried not because she was pregnant but maybe that something else might be wrong with her. She told me that she was going to get a pregnancy test and find out. I said fine but I also told her to go and see a doctor to make sure that everything was OK.
Today she called me and said that she just got her period and that everything was fine.
Here’s my question. Is that normal for a woman to have a late period; should I be worried about her health or was she just saying that to obtain more attention. I live in China, I’m an American and she is 10 years younger than me. Is it possible that she was just seeking extra attention or wanting to know how I felt about her?
If she was, then I’m quite livid, because that’s not the way to gain attention or love from someone.

No you dont need to worry that her period was late because it happens to most of us. I doubt she was trying to get your attention but talking with her might be a better idea than asking on Yahoo Q/A.

Second, if you're ready to settle down, and she's the one, then propose to her and get married.
Third, yes, she could just have been late. Stress causes that, among other reasons.
Fourth, do you really need a fourth? If you are asking if she was just looking for attention or needing reassurance on how you feel, then on some level you must know you're not really very good at expressing either of those. So, you may want to work on that one.

livid is a strong word for you to use with a girl thats been sleeping with u and risking getting pregnant... id say it probably is on her mind a tad that she might get pregnant and when she was late ( prolly due to stress) she worried enuf to tell u but told u she wasnt cos she wasnt. She is sharing with u, cos she should be able to and it is your job to make her feel secure in the knowledge that if u two did get pregnant she would be ok..as for seeking attention...only you would know the reason she might be seeking it...are u giving her enugh?? if so i dare say it isnt that.

Of course periods can be late from worrying, stress, etc. That is not uncommon.You need to learn about females as it sounds u dont have a clue, every girl worries about being pregnant from time to time. You sound very insenstive and I wouldnt go out with you..
