All babies are disgusting fat piles of pure nothingness.
They're worthless to me until they are old enough to work.
Otherwise I want nothing to do with them.
But you're right.
Babies are only cute when they are asleep, because they're so small and quiet.
But otherwise.

These people are sappy love letter writing types. I never say precious to describe a baby. But some are actually cute if they're not pushed out too hard. Or if they're mine.Mine were cuties.

Maybe it's a maternal thing, but MOST babies ARE cute and precious to me. :-) There are a few ugly ones I've seen but for some reason are still cute in a way because they are so small and cuddly.

If you have your own children and see the miracle of having a little person that looks like you and your partner, you will see what precious means.

People just don't know what to say about babies and that's all they can think of. Plus, they don't want to make the mother feel bad. If their baby looks like a gremlin, you can't exactly say that.

I used to think children were disgusting until I had my own. Now I love my little twin babies. They're so cute. But it's only because they're my own.

Errrr....because they are....you can't just think something is precious because it looks a little weird, babies are still human beings so they are extremely precious!

How would you like it if someone you knew looked at your baby and said "UGH!! HE LOOKS LIKE HOWARD COSELL" and you have a girl?? Babies are precious because they are a gift from God. ALL KIDS AND BABIES are precious and sweet when they are sleeping.

I think it is too loosely used. There are some beautiful or handsome babies (ahem, I'm told I was one, but beautiful?) that I have met that truly were. But there have been others that aren't as lucky as others, but I love all kids.

Most newborns are only honestly cute to their parents lol For others its probably because they havejnt been puiked on, thrown up on, pooped and peed on yet...
