I'm not a republican but that is irrelevant just as the statement made following the question.

""Removing all firearms from one's home is one of the most effective and straightforward steps that household decision-makers can take to reduce the risk of suicide," Miller said."

Sounds like Mr. Miller is out of touch with reality. And to think this statement came from someone at Harvard? How can anyone logically think that guns in a home are a cause of severe depression or other mental instability leading to suicide?

Wow.. and people believe this BS propaganda?

"To summarize, we conclude that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms. That right existed prior to the formation of the new government under the Constitution and was premised on the private use of arms for activities such as hunting and self-defense, the latter being understood as resistance to either private lawlessness or the depredations of a tyrannical government (or a threat from abroad). In addition, the right to keep and bear arms had the important and salutary civic purpose of helping to preserve the citizen militia. The civic purpose was also a political expedient for the Federalists in the First Congress as it served, in part, to placate their Antifederalist opponents. The individual right facilitated militia service by ensuring that citizens would not be barred from keeping the arms they would need when called forth for militia duty. Despite the importance of the Second Amendment's civic purpose, however, the activities it protects are not limited to militia service, nor is an individual's enjoyment of the right contingent upon his or her continued or intermittent enrollment in the militia."

That's silly. Not all Republicans are gun lovers, nor are all of the people who commit or attempt suicide. Or are you trying to say that somehow Republicans are responsible for suicides with guns? That is sophomoric. By the way I'm not a Republican.

The true story behind your question is, I can't wait for Hillary to get into office so we ( the anti gun nuts) can go after everyone's guns again. I bet you wanted to get a gun and blow your head off when Bush was elected and the anti gun movement had to crawl back under a rock. So now you see hope again so here you come again out from under your rock.

Medical Malpractice kills thousands more than guns or traffic accidents. So should we do away with Doctors and cars. Guns don't make people commit suicide. Mental problems do. So do more Democrats or Republicans commit suicide. You see what I'm getting at here.

So, not only should I, me, a responsible gun owner not be allowed to have a gun because criminals use them but also because some people use them to kill themselves?

Makes sense I guess, leave myself up to be defenseless while the criminals would still have guns, in order to protect the depressed, who would just swallow a bottle of pills.

Love of the country and goodwill toward others I suppose. They are simply not like socialists spewing hatred towards the nation. They also believe in living a moral life and helping others truly in need, not at all like socialist who live their lives taking from others what they are too lazy to earn on their own.
