I believe it will. On tv tonight just about every news program is airing this rap music/Imus debate. It is really bring to the forefront how much our country is racially divided and stirring up tempers. I can see a lot of the white potential Obama supporters jumping off that bandwagon as they see how the black "leaders" in Sharpton and Jackson have taken down a (supposed) radio icon within a weeks time. It's scary to think that 2 racist black leaders have that much power. I will be interested to see if there is a dropoff in white support for Obama after this incident. What do you all think?

racism has no place here... it is only a big deal when it is made to be so by those who starve for attention...

I don't think so. First, I don't think it was just Sharpton and Jackson who "took down" Imus, nor was it just black people. All kinds of people were shocked and offended by that statement. Also, keep in mind that what Imus said wasn't just racist; it was also incredibly sexist--do you think it's going to affect Hillary's chances that he was taken off the air for making a sexist remark?

Imus was taken down by the times. He made the fatal mistake of realizing too late that 2007 is not 1987, and what flew then just does not fly now. As it shouldn't.

I don't think this will happen either, but if anything, Imus's downfall should lend support to Obama's cause. It's about time people other than blacks and women said "enough" to all the white old men in this country who feel it's their right to mock and denegrate those who are not in that elite club.

Okay, let's be clear: Don Imus took Don Imus down! To say "Obama" and "Sharpton and Jackson" in the same paragraph has GOT to be some sort of sacrilege! Noone who is serious about or looking into supporting Obama would asociate him with those two publicity-hounds. It's like claiming a sameness in rubber tires and onyx because they are both black. No.

Believe this or not, but the true POWER was in those words Imus said at his mouth! The insult was that he JOKED around with his Redneck buddy on the show digging seeper with Nasty comments! What gets me is why do White Folks (Meaning YOU) think that Obama represents the Black Community, next Sharpton and Jackson either, they are just like that White Man in Office of the United States (G.W. Bush) they have they're on AGENDA!

I dont think Obama had a big chance before it because early polls show Hilary (gag) as the leading democratic candidate, but I have a feeling that Fat Albert and JJ could potentially hurt Obama. Honestly if I were Obama I would try and distance myself away from those two bigots as far as possible. Sharpton and Jackson are worse than the KKK. If Obama shows any kind of allegiance with them, I believe he has ZERO chance in this election.

nicely it relatively sounds like it. in case you have been keeping up with the information, as quickly because of the fact the Pennsylvania primaries have been executed, i've got observed that one and all significant media sources have became on Obama for some reason and are identifying on him aside. The elections purely come right down to who has the media on their area. it is going to pass back and forth like this till the top, so i would not throw out any ambitious predictions particularly yet, and certainly do not count variety all of us out.

No, I don't believe the Imus debacle will have much impact on Obama's campaign. He has to watch out for Hillary come later this year. I predict she will run one of the nastiest campaigns in history. Look out, Obama! Hillary's making mud pies!

"It's scary to think that 2 racist black leaders have that much power."

Yeah. But it's ok for racist white leaders to have all the power in the world.

I bet Clinton is breathing a sigh of relief now that Imus is gone, he did have a lot of influence and he hated Clinton.

Couple that with his muslim background and he will have to spend a lot of money.
The problem is that people will see the possibility of a media circus anytime someone disagrees.

oracka Obama did not help his image and the more he says and does, the less chance he'll have. When he was fresh & squeeky clean, no problems. But more and more things come out about him.

He was not saying the best things about this eye miss thing.
