Better. Certainly. However, I don't know if the roster on the Mavs would be as effective with the Nash run and gun style as Phoenix currently is. Phoenix has been bred by Colangelo for this style with finishers like Barbosa, Marion, and Stoudemire, whereas the Mavs are much more half court, so even though Nash would indeed help the Mavs, I think he's much more of a weapon on the Suns.

Well lets see how far Steve Nash has gone since he joined the NBA. He really developed into the player he is today and people really know about him as a star when he played at Dallas. Look at the players he has during that time, I mean Dirk and a bunch of similar players to what he's playing with now at Phoenix, but he have not led them anywhere. The Lakers used to kick there *** just about everytime they meet(with Shaq still playing for the Lakers). Now look at him, the NBA season MVP. Why is this the case? It's because of the right kinds of players that he is surrounded with. Sure Dallas has quite a few athletes, but none compared to what he has now in Phoenix. The style of play is still the same - the run and gun style. The difference is, Dallas has a lot of very good one-on-one type players that can beat anyone off the dribble and can create shots for themselves, so Steve Nash would not make much of a difference. I'm not saying that Phoenix players can't create their own shots, because they can and they are very good at it, but the difference is they rely on him to distribute the ball for easier and better shot attempts. Just look at the way he played when he played at Dallas. He still dishes out but Dallas never got anywhere. The style that Phoenix plays require a facilitator and he fits in perfectly in that system. Just look at Phoenix play, very fast up and down, and just about every 5 minutes or so there is an alley-oop pass by Nash for one of his teammate to dunk. So to answer your question, if he went back to Dallas and play for the Mavericks they would probably be in the same situation they were in when he was there, even with Dallas acquiring some very good players. Besides this, I don't think he would fit in well because of the new coach(Avery Johnson) and the style of play that he has his players playing. I mean, can you honestly see Steve Nash playing defense?

If Steve Nash gos back to Dallas Mavericks, i think that the team will get better because when Nash left Mavs, the team was still doing well. So if Nash is back with Dirk Nowitzki, it will be a better combination and can possibly result in a winning team

i think if nash were in dallas the team would be about the same. i wouldnt see a huge drop off, or a huge gain. actually if any, less wins!!!
nash would struggle in a syste m that preaches offence. in phoenix its run and gun basketball. and it suits nash. nash is a fantastic facilitator of such an offence. but defensively, he doesnt even average 1 steal per game. he would definitely struggle under the guidance of avery johnson.
let us also remember, since the trade, dirk has improved a lot . actually both players have. neither is the same when they were playing together. both have matured, and have led their respective teams to success. had they remained team mates they wouldnt have had the pportunity to develop and grow as stars in the league.

There would be no team that could possibly hang with them. That is basically two top tier MVP caliber players playing alongside each other. Plus once you throw in Josh Howard who I think is a perennial all-star in the making and that is a seriously good team. They would probably be better then the Lakers team that had Kobe and Shaq.

They would be ALOT better, they would have the best pg in the NBA Steve Nash, and have Jason Terry as a 6th man...And they wouldnt have to worry about playing the suns in the playoffs!

Nash is no longer a Maverick for a reason. He is a one trick pony, that can only excel in one system, and can never win a championship.
