Women do it because they spent most of their life, from the time they played with Barbie's, dreaming of what their life was going to be like when they got married and had kids. They feel incomplete, or in some cases. like a failure if they don't get that in a certain timeline or if they end up divorced. They feel like they will never see their dream. Society has done it to us. We are raised believing that we are going to be mom's and wives. We have that natural instinct to take care of and love. Like a momma lion protecting her cub. Or a wolf that mates for life. It's the same principle.

I never understood that one myself. The only thing I can say is, used to be there were very few other options opened to women. They couldn't get jobs which paid well, and marriage was about the only option.
I think that mentality is lessening, alot based on my friends, but it's still there a little. I think it depends on the women you're around. I work in a professionally environment, and the women all make a good living. They are less inclined to see marriage as the only option.

Well some women feel that way because in society that is what we are supposed to do and it has been burned into our brains for many years. Plus women have a natural instinct to have children and be nurturers.

Women feel incomplete because they are genetically made this way. It is human nature to want to have someone, and to pro-create.

There are emotions here that women react to--they are different from a man's emotions---I mean why do guys HAVE to have a loud car or a jacked up truck or they will not go outside.??It's just that simple and if you are NOT a woman then you would not understand

It's how we are raised to think, believe & act. It's what we wished for when we were kids -- to be just like mom & dad (or maybe even better). Playing house, and doctor are all role playing adventures steering us toward our desires.

because as children most of us believe we are suppose to be like our parents. most of us are told how we'd make good wives and mothers. and those things just somehow fills an empty spot. this is just really hard to explain. but a very good question. :)
