I have stopped nursing a couple months ago and got my first period at the end of March. I was wondering how long will take before I start ovulating again so I can try to conceive again? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Do you count 14 days from the first day you start your period, or 14 days from the last day of your period. I completely stopped nursing in feb, and the first day of my period was March 29th. My period was pretty normal like it was before I was pregnant. I started using ovulation test kit the day after the last day of my period, and I still havent detected my lh surge. Is it possible that I already ovulated and didnt notice? Or I just won't ovulate this month? I am starting day 16 from my first day of my last period. Any help would be wonderful. I am trying to conceive again to have kids 2 years apart. My 1 daughter in 9 months now. If that helps! Thanks to everyone who can help.

As you ovulate 14 days before your period, you could have ovulated already, although of course you can have your periods without ovulating. If your cycle is back to being regular then you can work out approximately when your next ovulation should occur.
There are other symptoms of ovulation as well.
There is a mucus discharge which starts 2-3 days before ovulation, thickens at ovulation and disappears the day after.
There is an internal temperature rise of 1/2 to 2/3 degree centigrade, when taken vaginally first thing in the morning.
There are hormone tests that can help you to determine if ovulation is occurring.
Family planning clinics or books on natural birth control can fill you in on the details.

***Before your first day of next period.

***There is only 11 1/2 months between my older brother and me, and 11 1/2months between my younger brother and me, and mum breastfed us all. (She had 9 of us in 10 1/2 years)
