My Mom lives out there in Baytown, ands she has told me numerous times that Johnson Space Center was fun, Also the San Jacinto was worth going to, There is a ship over ther also I think its called the SS Texas.

The Science Museum is impressive and worth checking out. I think it's free Tuesday afternoons.
