Because there are some Black leaders who love to feed on such nonsensical statistics. It keeps alive the myth that Blacks have no chance to succeed in this racist society. Now tell that to Hank Aaron, Hollie Berry, Oprah Winfrey, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and millions of other Blacks who have succeeded through determination and hard work, just as Whites, Latinos, and Asians have succeeded!!

Has to be one of the stupidest things I have read or heard in a long long time. No owner would NOT put a black guy on a roster if he was good enough to be there....the teams are all about winning and they are going to use the best player in their system at each position. I would like to have a few black players names that aren't playing at the major league level that deserve to be! Proof, and stats required.

By the way I was not saying your comment was stupid, I happened to read something about this the other day. You are on the same side I am, just different way of looking at it!

It's all relative, my friend. In 1974 the percentage was 24%. It's dropped every year since I think (all the way to 9%).

How important that is in the grand scheme depends on the person. But regardless of anyone's opinion, 24% to 9% is a statistically significant drop off.
