I was just drawing a picture when my orchid crayon snapped. Then, my yellow orange. I don't know what to do! Every time I buy a box of crayons, they seem to break when being used. Does anybody know how I can fix my crayons? I have tried tape, but it just doesn't work. Any information will be helpful. Thank you!

crayons brake so easily they get weaker from the heat of your hand or if you hold them too high up and use too much pressure.

you draw on them too hard, you should shade with crayons in light layers (the more layers the deeper the colour) and by the way Crayola is not the best make(Ive found cheaper ones that are better) In art collage we are told they are the worst brand you can buy they are cheaply made with kids in mind not maded for art, they are bad at shading and layering so here are the tips i would give.

1. broken crayons are next to imposable to fix even if you heat the 2 ends the joint pieces are still weak. best to find a mold melt the lot and remake (not wort time or energy)

2. as you are putting too much presser on the crayons my i suggest buying crayons with a plastic coating (that your have to pare/ peal/cut away) or how about buying thicker crayons.
or buying compressed crayons (which ive been using quite good) or compressed oil pastels. or last but not lest there is a crayon that has a wood covering for support ( looks like a very thick pencil) Expensive but last ages as they are twice the Lenght of a normal crayon and no matter how hard you draw the wood prevents presser breakage.

if you still feel the need for cheep crayons there is an art version that are cheaper far better then Crayola I'll give you the name of them when i get home tomorrow.

Maybe you should see if the crayon pieces will fit inside a chalk holder or a refillable eraser holder. If not, I've seen people use them to make candles with before... Jumbo sized crayons seem like they'd be worth the extra money if you break regular crayons a lot though. Good luck!

We used to stock unbreakable plastic crayons years ago but they were discontinued. I think they were made by Conte and they worked well. I have had a quick look on the net and there are unbreakable plastic crayons available but the only name I recognise is Factis (we stock their erasers). They don't claim theirs are unbreakable but close.

The only other suggestion I can make is the Gel Marker range by Pilot Pens. The name is misleading as these crayons resemble a lipstick tube as you twist them up to use. They are incredibly soft and smooth to use with very solid bright colours. They are sold individually £1.40 Set of 6 of either Brilliant, Pastel or Metallic £8.25 Set 12 Brilliant only £16.45. Last Christmas there was a special edition glittered marble pen. If you use crayons a lot check your supplier stocks the refills 85p each

Not a sarky answer!
Perhaps your crayons are too cold and are shattering. I know that my children's crayons used to do this when they were kept somewhere cold. Or...you might just be buying old crayons that have become brittle.
Have you tried looking on Crayola's website to see what might be causing the problem?

the forms, there are three easy ways to do it. you get coke or other aluminum cans and cut metal strips around .7 cm each, then join three of them in a triangle and either solder them or get some candles and melt their wax and put them around the seams then tie around for support or get a glue gun and glue the seams.get another strip and measure the triangle below and attach and then to melt the crayons, get a can (aluminum) and cut the top off then, bend the spout on any point you wish. put the crayons in the can with the label off, and melt on the stove. pour into mold and let it set

I just use my crayons broken, even down to the point where they are just a shard under my finger. If you tend to press hard enough to break them often, then switch to colored pencils. Prismacolors are my favorites, but there are others, too. They are all better than colored pencils used to be. But you still have to learn not to press so hard you break them, you can break any art material if you press that hard. Just experiment with them.

Go digital, baby: try Painter. Those crayons won't break and they are only useless if you also like to nib on them. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1166553885783
