The only one I can find that matches any of your clues is
Goodbye Little Darlin Goodbye by Johnny Cash. No church bells or birds though.

Um, sorry I don't know that song but it may help if you look & see if that radio station has a webpage and they put up a running board of "songs we just played" or "the top 40 requested songs of the week" or something like that. You'll eventually hear it again & it will go up on the board. If that doesn't work you can also google or go into a lyrics page and search for "church bells..." or whatever. That will at least narrow down your search a bit.
