Sorry dear. I know that I have to get you another bike but you have to wait until you get off your leaner licence and we save up for one. In the meantime if we win the lottery (because it costs the same as at least 5 Harley's) you can have the MV Augusta F4 SPR because it is the only bike that even comes close to being as sexy as you.

Maybe the etc. part. Not a crotch rocket. If they made a bike like my old Vision, only larger, I'd consider it. I liked that bike. It was comfortable, handled very well, had a 5+ gallon fuel tank, and even though I got it old and slightly used, it performed exactly like the review in Cycle World when they were brand new. Right down to the hard to get rid of flat spot at (I think it was) 4500 rpm.
If money isn't a factor in the decision, I'd take a Nightster.
Being a working class family man, motorcycles were never in the budget. Still aren't. One of the attractions of the Sportster has always been it's lower price tag. Other than that I have always liked them. I've got an '06 Superglide. Since it's built on a Dyna chassis, I can turn it into almost anything I want to. Heavy, but workable. The Nightster is lighter, and can be more "sporty" than me.
Most of my bikes were twins. I like the Vs better.

I recently did choose. I chose a 2007 Harley Sportster 1200R. I could have gotten a faster bike but I don't care for the riding position, besides I like to cruise for fun not sub-sonic thrills. I didn't care for the weight or the price tag of the big Harley's plus I don't buy into the whole Harley biker image thing. So the Sporty was just right, too Harley for the super sport crowd and "Not a real bike" to the Harley crowd. Sporties stand alone and to me that's pretty cool.

I like my bikes to be light and nimble. And my favorite riding position has my back more or less upright to slightly leaned forward, with my feet under me - I don't like forward controls. I currently ride a Suzuki GS500F sport bike. However, I have been seriously considering a dual sport as my next bike - those are like big street legal dirt bikes and don't really fall into either category.
I've also thought about getting a Buell Lightning Long - which would fall into BOTH categories at once.

if you arent sure whether to buy a street bike or a Harley then get a naked street bike...one of my friends got a Honda 919 and it is the best of both worlds...it has street bike handling and speed, can ride wheelies and endos like nothing, gets good gas mileage, but doesnt have the bulky fairings and other accessories that prove expensive in a crash...it also has more of a motorcycle look like a harley has instead of the fast and furious look that most street bikes have...furthermore it is comfortable to ride like a harley and you could ride with both crowds...also a Harley takes a lot of work to make it look good due to all the chrome and paint, one of my friends has one and spends more time cleaning it up then he does riding it. furthermore Harley's are expensive to buy and expensive to fix. A Honda 919 or a bike similar to it is everything you could ever need and once i have the money i definitely plan on getting my hands on one

Neither, i'd probably buy a Suzuki or Honda Street Cruiser. Don't need a rice rocket, and Harleys too much $$$.

I had a 1999 Suzuki 800cc cruiser for my first motorbike, and a year later I switched to a 2006 Suzuki SV650S (plenty swifter even even with the undeniable fact that a smaller engine, because of the tranny equipment ratios). once you're finding for a extra mushy experience, then a activities motorbike is probably not it. grant it they make motorcycles like that one guy reported, i think of the FZR one thousand, it is a huge and comfortable interest motorbike, yet get waiting for the cost tag. and additionally you're 800cc isn't adequate ability to get out of circumstances? something a 800cc engine won't be able to pull you out of, you are able to probable be hitting your brakes as a replace. even with the certainty that, i don't be attentive to what specific sitution you're speaking approximately. For convenience with the wind, fairing will certainly help, yet so will an oem super windshield on your motorbike. maximum cruisers pull off the windshield look particularly nicely. only determine you opt for the single that extends down the forks so which you get leg risk-free practices additionally. it is likewise very advantageous to have in chillier climate. For convenience on my own interest motorbike, it is defiinitely not a 2 hour commuter. I did besides the undeniable fact that purchase a seat made by using suzuki (used it is, costly otherwise) it is a gel seat. With that seat i will experience 2 hours conveniently, yet I nonetheless might choose the convenience of a cruiser seat in the process the experience. The inventory seat on mine has tension factors that harm your legs fantastically undesirable after an hour or extra. The commerce off is that the gel seat would not enable you to lean into turns to boot. The longest i've got ever ridden my SV replaced into 4 hours purely to end for gasoline, and that i replaced into in such soreness (my legs/butt) that i replaced into basically grinding my enamel. Oh and sturdy selection taking the MSF direction. i needed to pass back and take their stepped forward direction, yet have not accomplished it yet.

Buy the bike that best fits your riding style. If you like to travel, buy a touring bike. If you like fast, short rides, buy a rocket. If you've just won the lotto, buy a Harley. You need a bike that you feel comfortable on. I saw mine in a magazine and it was love at first sight! :)

I'll bet you live longer on a Harley. Its heavy and not much power (unless you rebuild everything) You'll be able to look cool even when parked.
The crotch rocket will look cool when you try to 'wheelie' at 120 (but not for long)
I'd take the Harley, a decent windshield, and take it easy.
