For example, there are at least 1,049 protections, benefits & responsibilities extended to married couples under federal law, according to a 1997 study by the General Accounting Office. Gay & lesbian couples in lifelong relationships pay higher taxes & are denied basic protections under the law. They receive no Social Security survivor benefits upon the death of a partner, despite paying payroll taxes. They must pay federal income taxes on their employer’s contributions toward their domestic partner’s health insurance, while married employees do not have to pay such taxes for their spouses. They must pay all estate taxes when a partner dies. They often pay significant tax penalties when they inherit a 401(k) from their partner. They are denied family leave under the Family & Medical Leave Act.
If you oppose marriage for Same-Gender Couples, what rights are you wishing to withhold from them, & which rights are you more willing to allow them to exercise?

Folks who oppose same-sex marriage really wish that gays were rounded up into concentration camps.
They are not happy to stop with financial or economic oppression of gays -- they are planning a 'Lake of Fire' for gays - this is God's will, you see . . .
Every Sunday these illegal political groups gather under the guise of religion and promote their doctrine of hate -- they sing song and have long sermons which recount over and over their glorious vison of Holocaust for gays -- something they would be all to happy to do.

I know people who have been denied visitation rights when their stepchildren (the children of their partners) go to the hospital, because they aren't legally stepparents. I know this is also an issue of hospital staff being unbelievably stupid, but this could easily be avoided if the couple can get married just like straight people, and the stepparent can claim their rightful status to see their children.

we'd want to continuously pay taxes in accordance with our earning no longer our marital status, i'm married with children and sense even singles gay or no longer might want to get tax breaks as well.i imagine this question is contained in the incorrect class yet gays must have an same rights, quicker or later we are going to look again and study from in the present day's blunders on how we discriminate adversarial to gays, like we did so with blacks

All of them.
The general public isn't even aware of a fraction of the rights, responsibilities, protections and benefits afforded by legal marriage.
They just hear what's popular at the time or simply what they want to hear and run with it. Whether it's correct or not. Whether it's constitutional or not.

You know what gets to me? The gay people want to make it legal, yet in certain states if you live together for more than 7 years, the state considers you married (I know this is true for NY)

The respect part. The part where they won't be able to interfere in our lives anymore. They are like bullies who have to hold someone else down so that they can feel better about themselves. The truely superior people live their lives and prove their points by example, not by force.

I don't oppose same-sex marriage, however, if I did, I think it would be okay to deny gay people the "right" to marry in Las Vegas...............or at least give them a "Warning Label".

I think it's mostly that the right-wingers want to have someone they can feel superior to.
Before the civil rights movement, that was African-Americans.
Before feminism, that was women.
Now, it's gays.
