Usually a cyst develops as an abnormal growth in a tissue. It is usually because of a trauma in the tissue. Sometimes it just grows. If you have a cyst in your testicle, it better be checked. You need to know what the size of it is, if it is painful, if it is encapsulated, and if it still growing in size. There is a possibility that it might be a testicular cancer. Your doctor might need to have it biopsied in order to know if its a cyst and not a tumor/cancer. I would advise you to have the doctor look at it and do more tests. Early detection for cancer will help in removing the cancer and hopefully it has not spread yet.

Cysts tend to be fluid filled benign (non cancerous) and not life threatening. This said they can enlarge to quite frighening sizes if left untreated as the fluid can continue to collect. Fluid can collect in the various layers that make up the testicle and around the ball itself. Cysts in the sac really should be checked out by an expert to ensure that that is what it is and not anything more sinister. Surgical drainage is simple and can be done as a day case. Good luck and get it checked.
