I believe on System Restore, it will only
go back to your Operation System
settings. I believe all your files will
remain intact, but any downloaded
programs will not be on the restore.
One good thing tho is that you can run
thru all the programs you normally use
If something is missing...You can either delete the new restore, choose
another one, or go back to the one you
restored from. It is a good idea to do
a new restore point about once/month
so you can keep up to date and not
have to go back so far.

A System Restore, that is, from a Restore Point, won't delete your files, but don't confuse that with a Reinstall from CD or the Recovery Partition. Depending on your machine's manufacturer, those might wipe out everything on your Windows partition.

No, System Restore is the best and safest way to get rid of various problems. By this you could set computer system to the date of your choice.

If you use windows xp you might have seen a message which also say that no data or file Will be deleted when you start system restore.

I do some time and I can say it is perfectly well.

Hope this Will help you.

If you have installed a program after the system restore point you chose, I think they would be deleted, and your registry would be restored as well. Your data files would remain intact.

If unsure which restore point to choose, I would pick the latest one and see if it works.

system restore is restoring your system to previous date. It will restore to whatever the settings and state of your system you have on that particular date . any programme, drivers, application added later restore date will not be available. doc file may remain but have to search for it.

Good luck

Thinking it will only restore the the last known good config point and will not have any files added between that point and the present.
