Well dont feel embarrassed. This is the place to ask questions. This may sound horrible but it goes in the hole. The only hole that is big enough for it. Not your rectum of course. Make sure you put the tampon all the way in if not it will feel horrible. Make sure it is not sticking out. Also pull on the string a little bit so you know it wont pull off and get stuck. That rarely happens though. I just wouldn't want it to happen on your first try. If you feel to uncomfortable try to wear pads. They make them real thin and you cant see them through your pants. They are very good too. I sure hope this helped. Good luck sweety

There are tampons on the market made especially for beginners that come with an instruction booklet on how to use them. The average length of the vagina from the opening to the cervix is around 3 to 4 inches and tampons are much smaller. The vagina has the ability to mould around the tampon once it is inserted so you should not experience stretching. Once you do start to use tampons, remember to change them regularly (every 4 hours or so) to prevent a rare, but serious infection called Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).
Good Luck!

You insert it into your vagina. The same place where your menstrual blood comes out. Get a diagram of the the female anatomy off the web and then take a hand mirror and locate all of your female body parts on your own body so you KNOW where they all are. There is nothing to be embarassed about but you do need to learn where the parts and and what they are called.

You have been given good tips on where to put it. Just be sure to put it in further than just the opening, but as far back as you can, or it can be very uncomfortable. Just be sure the string is hanging out.
Don't be embarrassed. Your body is a wonderful thing. Be glad it is functionally working. Don't be afraid to ask questions to keep it that way!

In your vagina. Ask a female friend or your doctor to explain it further. if you need your doctor can have a female nurse help you to put one in the first time. The first time you use a tampon can be very uncomfortable.

You insert it into your vaginal opening. If you have been trying and it has been feeling weird, you probably weren't putting it in far enough, which can cause discomfort.

Read the instructions on the box.
It goes in the same hole you're having your period from.

Lay on your bed and spread your legs. It should be pretty easy to slide it in there.
