Media thrives on emotion because it creates drama and drama increases ratings. What better topic than white vs. black?

In reality, the comments that he made were wrong. Using the argument "well, others have made worse comments and still have their job" is a weak one, like invalidating a criminal's crime because others have committed worse crimes. It was a comment made in poor taste and that's what the issue is. The media has turned it into racial white vs. black and we, the consumers, have eaten it up.

Because its really simple. Americans heard these comments, however only Black America to Offense on day one! Once White America started hearing the roar of ANGER in they're voice they picked up and started the Media Shows a BUZZ! What made this a White VS Black thing is when a White Man was in the firing point for his comments, his cheap way of trying (Note I Said TRYING) to get out of was by pointing the finger at the community to which he directed his comments too, and screaming "They say it all the TIME" The day when we can truly say America as a whole, is when the side that knows they are at fault for most of these problems can truly stand up and be real about it! And that's not by saying words like "Slavery was over years ago" or "Can't we just move on from the PAST" or the one they say all the time now but don't really mean any of it is "Can't We All Just get Along?" remember the man who used that phrase got whipped by a lot of White Officers!

Because Don Imus made it a Black and White issue, listen to the whole thing, and think for a change.

You're right. It should be a sex issue. The most offensive part of the statement was that the team were "hos."

America was born and bred on this "Black" and "White" issue.
Until the remaining bastions of bigotry are destroyed and reparations are paid, we must endure this Sh**!
