Drawing is something you just do. It's not what you are born with. It is just a lot of practice. You do anything that you want to. You must be able to project imagery in your head and when you plot the line be careful put the line where it looks best. If your having trouble with a certain line practice the stroke on a different piece of paper before you put it on paper or draw the line super slow and reshape it . You can start with pencil and get a general idea of how you'd like your piece. Then you can ink it to give rise to your creation. then you can erase the pencil marks. Really feel free with your style and don't imitate others creations. Art is art.. Your talent might look different than what you are trying to draw. Perfection is in the eye of the creator, be creative.

The easy way to learn how to draw is to learn and memorize all geometry shapes like square, circle, rectangle trapezoid etc. When you look at everything around you, you'll see they all have a geometry shape to them. When you look at a person, you'll see an oval for a head, a cylinder for the neck, a rectangle for the body, two cylinders for arms and two cylinder for legs and so on.
After practice drawing 2D shape, learn to shade these form to turn them into 3D.
To do this, buy some Styrofoam balls, some cubes from craft supply store put them on a table top, shine a light on them from one side. Shade every place you see a shade or dark value on the objects.
when you get comfortable with seeing thing as a geometry shape, you 'll find it is very easy to draw.
Practice, practice, practice makes perfect!

Drawing is easy and fun, in and of itself.
However, if you want show off, or promote yourself though drawing, then you have to do the exercises found in the books or a classroom, or a tutor.
Drawing is not hard to learn, just takes time. Consider that walking took you years to learn, yet you mastered it. Drawing is easier to master.

Learn to draw cartoons first. Those How to Draw Manga books are good. They are easier to draw then most things and give you a general concept of how to draw real things. It will also teach you how to use steps in drawing and teaching your hand to follow curves and how to draw what you see. After you're done with the book, work on how to draw real things.

make a photo of what you want to draw an then trace the contours. i have tried it on a palm device with a touch screen and for the first time in my life i have drawn a portrait that actually had a physical likeness to the person i was drawing.
