I have spent the last hour researching these very sad cases of child abuse and murder and am left with that question. Why would you give someone who took the life of a child 15 or 30 years? The child isn't coming back in 15 or 30 years... why should they (the parents) be allowed to go on to live their lives after something like that? Thats just sick.

This website has a few of the case's that i am talking about:

By the way if that website is too chessy for you, you can actually search almost any of those childrens names in the wikipedia and find the same facts.

Many will argue postpartum deppression... I understand that there are many EXCUSES for doing something so horrible but the fact remains that no matter what the reason the child is still GONE.

They shouldn't even be given parole, they should get the death penetly just like they gave their child or children. I don't see how someone can do that to their own blood, not to mention their own children.

In my humble opinion, the death penalty for anyone only results in one thing: death of another person. It doesn't solve a darn thing! Then, you end up with the family of the offender in grief.

We need to study and rehabilitate these people, especially if it was a one time act, as awful as it sounds.

I don't think these women who kill their kids will be life-long murderers. That's an entirely different mind set.

Whatever was going on in that person's (woman's) mind at the time of the act, will be gone in a short period of time. So what seems like excuses are in fact real syndromes that occur but cannot be precisely explained.

Unless you've been clinically depressed, you have NO idea how weird your thinking gets. Suddenly it seems to make sense to just end the crying by stabbing the infant and burying it in the back yard. It's not at all logical, but for a moment, it actually seems like it would be possible to get away with.

Unless you're talking about premeditated murder, emotional triggers can be quite powerful.

There is of course no excuse for killing your own child, and if they are ever released back into society, sterilization should be mandatory. I am frankly for the death penalty in cases that are beyond a shadow of a doubt, such as confession.

Because the juries are stupid enough to listen to those high priced lawyers that get then off on an insanity plea.
