Definitely. You have made the right choice. Its got new pokemon (107, in fact, bringing the new total to 493). I've got it and Pearl and because Dialga looks cooler than Palkia, chose to play it instead of Pearl.

Dialga makes the better tank and Special Attacker all at once. Here's why:

Roar of Time is like a Hyper Beam except at 150 base damage and is dragon-type. Its Special, greatly manipulating its high Special Attack. Its high Defence and HP really prevent it from certain death when it recharges next turn. On the other hand, Palkia is the better sweeper:

Spacial Rend is a 100 base-damage Dragon-type with a high critical hit ratio. Since Palkia has high Attack, Special Defence and Speed plus its Water/Dragon typing, it can take out opponents quickly and effectively. Dialga looks better though (its a quadruped too!).

You can also have access to the Diamond-exclusive Cranidos, which can evolve into Rampardos. Its pure Rock-type and has the highest Attack stat ever, excluding Deoxys Attack form (screw you Deoxys!!) and has an average Speed and Defence but its Special stats aren't that good.

Also, you can only catch Murkrow, which you can evolve in to Honchkrow by using the Dusk Stone. Even though it gets slower, its defensive stats get a bit better and its HP gets a lot better. Its Attack gets the greatest boost and its Special Attack is high but not as high as its Attack. It makes a good sweeper as it learns cool new moves like Night Slash which is a Dark-type version of Slash as well as Dark Pulse, which can cause flinching.

The Dark/Poison Stunky is exclusive to Diamond, as is its evo, Skuntank. It looks cool and unlike the Pearl exclusives, they don't get uglier when they evolve. Like Murkrow, it learns good Dark-type moves, as well as Toxic, Flamethrower and Explosion (woah!) Its got very good rounded stats with only Sp. Defence being the lowest but not by that much.

Others include:
Seel as opposed to Spheal
Scyther as opposed to Pinsir
Larvitar as opposed to Bagon
Poochyena as opposed to Houndour
(you can only catch Mightyenas however)
Aron as opposed to Slowpoke
(we all know which one's better!!)
and Kecleons as opposed to Stantler

Overall, except for Larvitar and Poochyena, Diamond has the better deal when it comes to the pokemon.

Yes, Diamond will be worth it. It features 107 Pokemon, a new storyline, and you can finally catch them all. Gone are the days of link cables, with the wi-fi connection you can trade and battle friends online. It has gotten good reviews and was the topseller in Japan, it looks to be one of the best installments in the series.

i used to have diamond but i gave it in and bought platinum. Platinum is better because on top of every thing in diamond, platinum has a lot, i mean A LOT of new features that diamond didn't have. I like platinum coz u get dialga, palkia n giratina and it has a battle frontier
