Also why do you think women who are promiscuous are that way?

Thanks.

For those of you saying that this is a sexist question: when has asking people's opinion on something made it sexist? I'm simply doing some research and looking to get people's perspective on the issue.

Everyone views relationships differently, some women take sex in a less serious way, some women fall in love easily. Some women just enjoy the rush of the beginning of a reltionship and after the newness wears off they move onto another guy. Some women just like sex that much. Guys sleep around all the time, and they're "cool" for it but when a women does it she's a s l u t. No I'm not promiscuous, I just think that's a little unfair.

promiscuity is about self esteem issues
it could be physiological and the woman has a high sex drive but generally the woman who is promiscuous becauseshe equates that with self esteem and the only way to feel of any worth

I find the politics of it very interesting. My girlfriend did, and to some extent still does, fit many people's definitions of promiscuous. She gets a pass on getting a negative label because she's a lesbian, and probably because she is specifically a butch lesbian. She gets the male label of "stud" instead of the feminine label of "s|ut." (I can't believe yahoo censors that word.) Also, STD's are more or less a non-issue with female-female sex, and pregnancy is definately a non-issue. She's always sure to make it clear that the sex is just for fun and there are no feelings involved. She always makes sure the participant is willing and doesn't string them along or promise anything she can't or doesn't intend to deliver.

Her sexual energy is part of what initially attracted me to her and is part of what still does. I'm not into casual sex, but I don't care if she sleeps with other girls as long as she doesn't ditch time with me to do it. She views sex as a very casual thing most of the time. She half-jokes that having a conversation with someone is much more intimate than going down on them. But with me it's different. I am one of the few women allowed to top her at all and the only one allowed to do certain things with her. I am the only one she loves, and at the end of the night she's always in my bed. That's all I care about. And if I ever am uncomfortable with something, I let her know and she doesn't do it anymore. I come first. And so I'm happy. Plus, sometimes I get to watch. :)

Straight people and gay men have to worry about a lot more things than lesbians do. For them casual sex is obviously riskier, but not so much so that I think it's crazy. Unprotected casual sex, now that's crazy... Hell, unprotected monogamous sex is crazy. But as long as everyone stays safe, and everyone is completely honest about their intentions and feelings, I couldn't care less.

EDIT: derovius: yes, yes, you can get herpes, but only if you come into contact with a herpes sore. and the only recorded case of a female to female HIV infection was two women who were participating in heavy S&M and there was blood involved. I'm just repeating the numbers: rates of ANY STD infections between women are <1%. ooh, scary. and i'd provide a link, but it's from a medical book I read a couple of years ago. You are a jealous one, aren't you? when i say she was promiscuous, i mean she has had 60+ ladies at the tender age of 22 and not one STD. yes, she still gets tested regularly.

btw, yes, I CAN get my gf off without touching her. When she's in the right mood, I can just look her in the eyes and she goes over the top. hottest. thing. EVER.

What a sexist question. Women are "promiscuous" for the same reasons men are. Only our brains aren't overflowing with ego because we have souls.

I don't think anything about them because it has nothing to do with me. When we judge others it shows we probably have our own issues to deal with. There are a lot worse situations that women could find themselves in and as long as they are using protection then it is their lives. Why should the sexual double standard apply to women and not to men. When men have multiple partners they are called playa's and given the high five by their buddies.

Scruffy: That is the dumbest thing I've ever read on Y!A's. You think that because lesbians don't ejaculate bodily fluid into one another that they are somehow unaffected by the threat of STD's?

Cunnilingus causes ones oral cavity to come into contact with sexual fluids, which is where cold sores come from (HERPES), and can spread AIDS, syphilis, etc. Unless you somehow "pleasure" your girlfriend without physical contact, you're lying to yourself if you think your lifestyle is somehow safer than other sexual orientations. Anything to make yourself feel better about being different, hmmm?

Back on topic:

Women who give it away "easily" or "to everyone" quite frankly disgust me. If a girl I go out with says she's had to many boyfriends to count, its cheque time. Same goes with a guy, however, I really don't care what other guys do (or whom they do.), as it does not effect me in the slightest. Having a lover who shows a modicum of self control makes the act all the more intimate, rather than just an overglorified blowing of ones "nose" on another.

I oppose promiscuity for both men and women. If you're going to stay single and be sexually active, keep your encounters few and far between, and with people you actually know. If you're married or dating steadily, don't cheat. It's very simple.

I don't like them. And I think it has something to do with their upbringing.
