I'd like to think we are both soul and body. Hopefully, we will become less body and can become more soul. That way we will need not as much from this material world to survive and thrive.

Humans. We are evolving as we speak about this subject. Not as fast as we once did though. With our current living conditions, IE a/c, heating, readily available foods, modern medicine. We still are evolving. But to what only time will tell. The modern human is basically kept. We no longer need to hunt, forage for food, and fight the elements to stay alive, so our progress as a species has slowed but not stopped. Evolution can never be stopped. Theres my two cents.

When I look to the future I look more at changes in politics, social conditions, and human understanding.
Aside from that, I would say that we are going to use are own technologies to enhance our physique before nature does any more work on us. This will probably involve enhancements in our mental capabilities as well. Two things I hate to think about are the possibilities of Governments controlling us like robots, and the possibility that our only purpose on Earth was to create our successors such as machines for a grander plan.

You humans will evolve into the monsters you have always desired to become. Your nature is to become the very thing that you fear most, and therefor you will be the threat that other life humbles before your might.
Your species is the only species of creature on this planet or any other that has improved its technology through war, and testing your own weapons on yourselves and the planet you live on.
You sick crazy bastards. I never could understand a race that grows stronger by sacrificing themselves to the cause of advancement.

We are not evolving. We need to survive into the future with God leading us. We are His creatures.

I'm inclined to hope for the evolutionary product of our species to become a better organized social network where we might have a true collective conscience which leads us to direct our efforts toward that which is good for us as individuals as well as toward that which is good for us as a species.

Physically, I suspect we will continue to evolve according to our fitness to survive, adapting as a species to overcome changes of our environment.

i don't think the earth will last long enough for us to survive the next 500 years, let alone evolve.
