San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area come to mind, as well as New York.

If Republicans are so rich and greedy than why are they most associated with rednecks?

I'm live in Phoenix, hardly a rural town nor a place no one "in there right mind would dare to live" as the whole area has expontentially grown in the last 6-7 years, and we're still conservative, and it's not outrageous to live here. Dallas/Ft. Worth as well, very nice.

I know about the laws of supply and demand, it still doesn't change the fact that while you liberals claim the republicans are just out to make money, that you obviously make much more than most to be able to live in outrageously high, priced, saturated places. Not to mention SF's on it's way back to the sea, why spend 2M on a house when it's just gonna get shaken down?

Because they believe that every American other then them should be taxed to death and redistribute the wealth they accumulate into non working individuals pockets. Each time you drive up taxes on individuals and businesses you drive up the cost of living. You cause businesses to lay off employees. They just do not get it. Each time you place and increased tax burden on a business you lose jobs. Each time you drive up taxes on a businesses you lower the number of employees and the starting salaries of individuals.

For those who do not know what a redneck is - Here is the correct definition - A person who works outside for a living as in construction and or a laborer. A hard working individual. It is not associated with the morons who place large wheels on the truck and loud pipes. These individuals portray themselves as rednecks but are clueless to the real definition.

If Republicans are the rich and greedy ones, then the Kennedys, including Teddy, must all be Republicans. It's just logic, Captain Kirk.

There's an economic theory called supply and demand. If a supply of something is limited, like housing, and the the demand is high because the city is popular then the prices will tend to go up.

The highest cost of living is due to higher taxes, which Liberal Democrats use to create 'Equality Of Oppurtunity'

Republicans use lower taxation as a major vote getter, and then waste billions on unnessecary funding, eg:wars, scare tactics advertising, and take money by unscupulous ways. eg: bush and halliburton.

because rednecks are the easiest to control, scream FOR AMERICA and they will rally to your course, a) if you are a cowboy hat wearing president b) you are a cowboy hat wearing president aka bush.

watch BORAT singing the National Anthem at one Cowboy Bull Wringing festival, and see the results for yourself.

well, it seems that there are parts that are on both sides of both parties...

but what most consider "the rich" really make up a very small percentage of the overall population (like 5-8 percent), so things like "cost of living" that are based on an average of the entire population, aren't really that represenative of who is rich or not, since they are so watered down...

there are studies and exit polls that do look at the average income numbers... but there are wealthy and poor in both parties... much more poor in both...

Any metropolitan area, regardless of political leanings, is going to have a higher cost of living. Just as rural areas are going to have lower costs of living. People are willing to put up with higher costs because they value what living in a large city offers. Culture, people, public transportation, and proximity to work amongst other things. People that move to cities are generally more educated, have higher paying jobs, and can afford the city life. Generally.

So draw whatever conclusions you want, but population density tends to increase cost of living due to the fact that this is a free market society and scarce resources such as space are allowed to cost more.

If you want cost of living in New York to be the same as in Boise, then join the communist party.

The upper 1% for whom the party fights for, they are. The rednecks are the stupid people that believe that the party would bring social reform and vote for them for causes such as abortion, gay marriage etc. Thus the greedy rich people get to hold power and abuse the rednecks by making policies only in favor of cooperation's and rich people. As such the redneck not only loose their votes, their voices but also their power to promote any real reform.

It's like this: The average Democrat tends to be higher educated, and make MUCH more money than their GOP counterpart. But Dems understand that with their good fortune, comes responsibility. Those that don't want the responsibility, and just want more money for themselves become Republicans and whine constantly about how they pay too much in taxes, even as their bank accounts overflow with money. Hope that helps.

Because they regulate everything with Government interference. Makes things cost more. Plus, it costs more for those of us who work, to pay for the ones who won't.
