y do men feel the need to say things they think us women want to hear instead of telling us how they really feel... and just be honest even if it hurts.... anyone have an anwer for me???

Human nature-the nature of the beast. Most men who are not sincere will flatter the female to get whatever it is they want from her. Some want money,some sexual favors and some just think they are IT and those are usually far removed from any truth. There are also those who in order to avoid the awkwardness of truth when face to face with the woman will in order to still be the good guy talk nice with flattery although it only comes from the mouth, these men are also cowardly.This is why woman should sometimes take the blinders off and look long and hard and observe the man,men they are with for words alone do not tell the story but also the actions of the man and often too what he does not say,what he does not do.Then there are also those men who are nice guys and simply do not want to hurt. Pay atttention to your woman's intuition for a lot of times it'll tell the truh or at least have you doubt the words esp if the words do not maatch the actions,the rest of the man.

Speaking as a guy...
Think about it this way... if a guy says what hte woman wants to hear then they don't get chewed out.
If a guy speaks his mind and says what he really thinks, then the girl will likely get offended and then we have to deal with them being pissed at us, or moody, or god knows what.
So in conclusion, its really just easier to say what they wanna hear.
Personally, I try to speak my mind anyway, but thats just me lol

not all men are like that. some men who are like each other (stereo-types) seem to display the same personalities. But again men in general are not like that. You might need to find another man unless you are married.

maybe they want us women to feel happy..they also know that if they say what we dont wanna hear, we'll complain to them...which will lead to some discussions,pretty on a quarrel

Guys aren't good in touchy-feely stuff. They just say stuff they think you want to hear so you won't think they're sissy or something.
