Statistically, nearly all marriages in history have lasted until death. It takes three to make a marriage work: husband, wife, and God.

LOWER YOU EXPECTATIONS honey. It's takes alot of hard work to get your marriage to last until death. Unless of course that first fight happens to be a severe and deadly one. In this day and age, I don't know what it would take to get a marriage to last that long. Too many people expect too much of each other. They are fed all this "Hallmark", lifetime channel crap and expect it to be reality. Truth is marriage is far from that. Your hair doesn't stay all neat and manicured after a romp in the sac. Women don't wake up with make-up on. Men scratch stuff. I don't know why, heck, I don't even want to know why....they just do. And yet, it's those very stupid little things that have people running to the courthouse for a divorce. I got married in an age where vows were taken seriously. Where divorce was only granted in extreme cases and with just cause. It's not he case anymore, so unless you have some sort of crystal ball or the grace, strength patience and determination of God....it's pretty much a crap shoot. Like I said.....lower your expectations.

It's very easy. There comes a point in time when a person just doesn't want to be alone. It's all about comfort. It would be nice if it was truly love but I don't think for most it is love. The thought of not having someone to come home to or to talk to is not pleasant.
I've been married for 10 years. I wouldn't divorce my husband just for the fact that I would rather not be single and have to date. He's a nice guy but we stay together because it would be too costly to divorce.

It is a figure of speech. It is a vow and a promise. You commit to this marriage. After you die your promise is dismissed and you get to play around. Giggling. By then you will have nothing but your soul and no body. But remember it is a vow not just a piece of paper. Paper burns and love and devotion is suppose to last forever. When a spouse dies the love does not die. You have heard of married couples who die with in months of each other. I personally hope that when I die my ex is not in heaven with me. Otherwise I will have to kill him. That's my story and I am sticking to it. It is a vow to commit to the marriage and if you say "I DO" then you are in it for the long haul. Good Luck with that.

Have you ever seen a couple who's old and been
together forever still love each other and then one of them dies, the other one feels completely lost
without the other, and soon follows. That is how
marriage last until death.

Stay married until you die. After death, the sudden lack of exchanging carbon dioxide and oxygen makes it even more difficult to communicate. Hence the "till death do us part" portion of the program.

you have to marry the right person, they have to be your best friend too. don't forget to keep things interesting in the bed room and all. I know this couple that has been married for 30 years or so, and still they have a date night once a week and always shower together.

You choose a mate that is your best friend, someone that can compromise, and someone that you love like nothing else. Then you stay together FOREVER.
